Invited Workshops on University Campuses

  • September 2017. Tarun Kumar co-led a 4-hour long theatre workshop with Richa Nagar at Constructing Solidarities: Ethics, Politics and Challenges in Crossing Boundaries, a housing rights conference and workshop hosted by Professor Faranak Miraftab, University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
  • May 2017. Tarun Kumar co-led a 3-hour long theatre workshop with Richa Nagar on Grappling with Radical Vulnerability, at the Department of Anthropology, University of California at San Diego.
  • September 2015. Tarun Kumar was invited by Professor Illina Sen to produce a play with the graduating class of Master’s Students at the Advanced Center for Women’s Studies, School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. The week long workshop focused on dramatizing Ismat Chughtai’s ‘Do Haath.’
  • 2007-2016: Faciliated 8 theatre workshops with members of Sangtin Kisaan Mazdoor Sangathan (SKMS) and their forum, Sangtin Kala Manch, in Sitapur town and in Mishrikh and Pisawan blocks of Sitpur District on the politics of development, livelihood and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NGEGS). The plays produced and improvised in these workshops have been performed by members of SKMS continuously in various dharnas and meetings across the Sitapur district since 2010.
  • Workshop on Acting in September/October 2022, which was facilitated by Tarun Kumar and co-taught by Chitra Mohan and Purnima Kharga, that culminated in the workshop production ‘Bedakhli’.
