Process

Tarun Kumar works with those who have not been exposed to theatre as well as with those who have been in the field. His aim is to bring out the hidden talents of the actors, make them aware of their own natural abilities that they may not have discovered or explored thus far. He helps the actors to recognize how their bodies and minds work together in multifaceted ways and the manner in which they can deploy that coordination to refine their theatrical skills as actors, writers, and members of the audience. Since 2006, He has tried to blend this artistic and aesthetic goal with questions of political engagement. Specifically, he has developed plays and theatre activities in Hindi and Awadhi with members of : (a) an informal group called Parakh-Mumbai and (b) Sangtin Kisaan and Mazdoor Sangathan, a movement of peasants and laborers movement in Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh) on issues of livelihood and politics of development.
